The conference will be among the first to present the final results of a European NanoRoadMap project co-founded by the European Commission under FP6. The project started January 2004 with the objective to provide coherent scenarios and technology roadmaps up to the year 2015 for the application of nanotechnology in three selected fields: Materials, Health and Medical Systems, and Energy, carried out to help European players optimize their efforts in this sector. A Danish perspective will be given by experts from the universities, the industry, venture funds, and public funding bodies.
The conference menu will comprise the three themes from the NRM project but will also address national/international networking, public funding and venture capital possibilities as well as the challenges new start-up companies may face.
There will alså be presentations about the organisation of the UK micro-nanotechnology initiatives, a UK club for micro-nano start-up companies, the European Nanotechnology Gateway, and the European Nanotechnology Trade Alliance.
NanoRoadMap presenters:
- Nanomaterials: Willems and Van den Wildenberg, Holland
- Energy: Institute of Nanotechnology, United Kingdom
- Medicine: VDI-VDE, Germany
The Danish Perspective:
- Director Carsten Gaarn-Larsen (Højteknologifonden)
- Professor Aric Menon (MIC/DTU)
- Project Manager Carsten Faltum (CAT Science)
- Director Lars Lading (NABIIT)
- Professor Flemming Besenbacher (iNano, Aarhus)
- Professor Niels B. Larsen (Risø)
- Director Mogens Rysholt Poulsen (NaNet)
plus representatives from companies active in the field.
Who should attend?
Researchers, students, decision makers, venture capitalists, development engineers, technicians, i.e. all with an interest in the field of nanotechnology.
The nanotechnology revolution is just around the corner – do not miss this excellent opportunity to stay ahead!
