Globalisation has hit us and companies wishing to compete in the world market displaying confidence and trustworthiness, must keep their things in order. A much known fact at VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S in Esbjerg, where product quality means everything when personal safety is at stake.

VIKING, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of life saving equipment holds productions in many different countries. The product quality is high and meets the applicable national and international standards and directives.

”It is obvious that the products we manufacture set priority to very high safety and quality standards. As we operate in the market globally, it is very important that our products are trustworthy and regulations for conformity assessment marks help document and communicate the quality level. Our cooperation with FORCE-Dantest CERT, should be seen as a consequence of such requirements. FORCE-Dantest CERT is much renowned with very well-qualified personnel with sound professional qualifications”, explains technical vice president Jens Peter Kruse at VIKING.

Focus on dialogue
When FORCE-Dantest CERT perform audits it is crucial that a company meet all the requirements in all the various directives in their line of work. All rules and regulations must be strictly observed, but there is also an educational side to the task”, thinks head of department for Materials and Product Inspection, Niels Ovesen from FORCE-Dantest CERT:

”We have thorough technical understanding of the products we audit - and of their function. Thus we may address a task very accurately and determined, which means that we may cooperate with the customer on any improvements to the quality system and procedures and as such regarding manufacturing”.

Diversity
With VIKING FORCE-Dantest CERT certifies within personal protection equipment and life saving products - where products must meet EU’s personal protection equipment directive or EU’s marine equipment directive. FORCE-Dantest CERT is a notified body for both directives, which is an advantage to VIKING, as their products can be approved in one process only.

”When you wish to maintain production of quality items, it means everything to be granted the right mark, such as e.g. the steering wheel mark or the CE-mark. And it proves a huge advantage to maintain a smooth and constructive dialogue with our auditors. FORCE-Dantest CERT hold huge amounts of expertise and experience to which we have access”, says Jens Peter Kruse.
