In the beginning of 2008, Lloyd’s Register, the well-known global organisation dealing with enhancing safety and approving assets and systems at sea, on land and in the air, decided to outsource the training of their marine surveyors to FORCE Technology. Five 3-week MNDE (Materials and Non Destructive Examination) Foundation courses have been scheduled for 2008, and all have been successfully completed.
Positive feedback “According to the feedback from the course participants, they are pleased with our service and expertise. They particularly emphasised the facilities, the interaction between theory and practice as well as the accommodation”, says Helle Hansen Rasmussen, Project Manager at FORCE Technology.
Helle Hansen Rasmussen continues, “We aim to create a mixture of lectures and practical work, such as practical workshops in the lab or in the welding shop”.
Substantial curriculum During the three weeks, the course participants go through a substantial curriculum within metallurgy, welding and NDE testing, which is supplied by Lloyds Register. About 20 qualified/skilled employees from FORCE Technology are responsible for teaching and presenting the curriculum to the course participants.
In 2009, six more “Lloyds Register courses” are scheduled to take place at FORCE Technology’s premises. Four in the first four months of 2009 and two in the second half of 2009.
